If you want to net more money from the sale of your home, there are a few cost-effective tips that can help you earn more while spending less.
Boost your curb appeal. When a prospective buyer approaches your property, it’s important to make a good first impression. One of the best ways to achieve this is by cleaning up your landscaping. Remove weeds, add fresh rock or mulch, water your lawn, and trim bushes and trees to really boost your curb appeal.
Fix up your driveway. Power-washing your driveway and removing any stains or tire marks can make your home look much nicer, overall. There are even some companies out there that will do these tasks for you.
Replace or spruce up your fascia boards. These wooden boards below your roofline can be damaged by the sun. Fixing them up can go a long way in improving the appearance of your home.
Fix up the front door. Adding a fresh coat of paint, changing out the door handles, and replacing the weather stripping are all ways to improve the appearance of your home’s front door.
Get your carpet cleaned. I highly recommend having a professional clean and repair your carpet before putting your home on the market.
Get tile flooring cleaned. As is the case for your carpet, it’s important that tile flooring looks its best before buyers see your home.
Depersonalize your home. Removing family photos, religious items, or other personal touches will help the buyer see themselves in your home.
Declutter the home. If there are any items in your home that you’re no longer using and that are simply taking up space, store or get rid of them. Buyers want to see a spacious, clean home. Remove things from counters and other flat surfaces. Decluttering is also a great excuse to start packing.
All of these simple tips will help you get a lot more money for your home sale. If you have any other questions, would like more information, or would like help buying or selling a home in today’s market, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
