What can first-time homebuyers expect from the home buying process? Helping first-time homebuyers is our team’s specialty, so to answer that question, I’ll go over the steps we take when working with our clients.

First, we sit down with you and talk about your needs and wants. For example, what type of home are you looking for? What are the pros and cons of considering a condo vs apartment, or a loft vs bungalow? What area are you looking to live in?

If you need financing, our next step would be to set you up with a lender so they can help you get your finances in order and match you with a loan program you can afford.

After that, we start your home search. One of our agents would customize an MLS search for you so you see the homes that fit your wants and needs as soon as they hit the market.

Once you identify the properties you’re interested in, it’s time to visit them in person. Sometimes, finding the right home happens right away; other times, it can take weeks. In any case, once you find the home you want, we look at recent comparable home sales in the same area in order to craft the best offer possible.

After your offer gets accepted, we guide you through the escrow phase, which can take anywhere from 30 to 45 days.

The best part about this whole process? It doesn’t cost you a dime. The seller pays our commission.
